Grocery AssociateWe are looking for friendly and experienced Grocery Associates to ensure that the sales floor area of our supermarket is well-maintained and running efficiently. You will act as the first point of contact with customers and help them with information and support in buying their groceries.Your duties may include preparing sale displays, ensuring the store is clean, stocking products, and processing customer orders. To exceed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a friendly and open attitude, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:Ask customers about their needs and help them in making purchasesEscort customers to the appropriate aisle or shelve in order to assist with purchasing decisionsProvide excellent customer serviceEnsure the store is clean, safe and in orderStock and replace products to avoid any damagesKeep shelves fully stocked with fresh productsPrepare store displays and ensure that products are accurately labeledOrder out of stock productsProcess customer orders and paymentsRequirements:Organized with a high attention to detail, consistently follows through on commitmentsDemonstrates the ability to handle multiple demandsCommunications skills – clear directions, good listenerExperience serving the publicAbility to project friendly, outgoing personalityProlonged standing, walking, squatting, and/or bendingAbility to lift heavy boxes frequently up to 40 pounds and occasionally team lifting to 75 poundsRepetitive use - hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and armsMust be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting and be able to focus on distant and close-range projectsAbility to walk and stand for long periodsAbility to work in cold, wet conditionsAbility to read and interpret documents such as department manuals and reportsAbility to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focusWillingness to work weekendsRegular, predictable attendanceWillingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the jobEvening/night work may be requiredOccasional high stress when dealing with systems/customers/staffAbility to work a flexible schedule to include a variety of shifts -- afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to have a positive attitude alwaysUnderstand key business standards related to food, service, and cleanlinessProblem solving – Anticipating, analyzing, and identifying problemsContinuously interacting with customers and co-workersMust be a self-starter in all aspects of your jobGood communication skillsKnowledge of various cleaning products and when to use themAbility to clean and disinfect various surfacesKnowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleanersExcellent time-management skills
