Chicago IL – AML/Financial Crime Investigator (Hybrid)

LHH has a client who needs a Chicago IL – AML/Financial Crime Investigator (Hybrid) will be conducting AML investigations, transaction monitoring reviews, sanctions screening, or identifying suspicious activity, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical risk and compliance function.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct end-to-end AML and financial crime investigations
• Review transaction monitoring alerts, customer activity, and account histories
• Analyze transactions against expected activity, customer profiles, and stated business purpose
• Utilize KYC, CDD, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) information during investigations
• Assess sanctions and OFAC-related risks and conduct adverse media research
• Investigate source and destination of funds, counterparties, and related accounts
• Identify unusual activity, money laundering typologies, and suspicious transaction patterns
• Document investigative findings, risk assessments, conclusions, and recommendations
• Escalate complex cases and collaborate with specialist teams when needed
• Support historical reviews, regulatory inquiries, and ongoing compliance initiatives

What You'll Bring:

• 3+ years of AML, Financial Crime, Sanctions, Fraud, or Transaction Monitoring experience
• Experience conducting end-to-end AML investigations independently
• Strong knowledge of KYC, CDD, and EDD requirements
• Understanding of OFAC and sanctions compliance regulations
• Experience analyzing transactional activity and identifying suspicious patterns
• Strong investigative writing, documentation, and case management skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases while meeting quality and productivity targets
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

Location: Chicago IL (Hybrid)

Pay: $45 – $49/hr.
